Difference
How It Works
The calculator divides each product price by its quantity to show the price per unit. It then compares the two unit prices and highlights the lower one as the better value. The selected currency controls display formatting only; it does not perform foreign-exchange conversion.
Example
If a 3 kg pack costs $12, the unit price is $4 per kg. If another 2 kg pack costs $9, its unit price is $4.50 per kg, so the first option is cheaper per kg.
How to compare fairly
- Use the same unit label for both products, such as kg, lb, liter, item, or pack.
- Include delivery fees, taxes, or deposits if they apply to one option but not the other.
- Compare usable quantity, not just package size, when waste or spoilage matters.
- Check whether loyalty discounts or bundle prices change the real price.
Currency display note
- Currency selection changes formatting only.
- The tool does not convert USD to EUR, VND, or other currencies.
- Enter both prices in the same real currency before comparing.
- For cross-currency shopping, convert prices first using a reliable exchange-rate source.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is unit price?
Unit price is the cost for one unit, such as price per kilogram, liter, item, ounce, or pack.
How do I compare two products?
Enter each product price and quantity using the same unit. The lower unit price is usually the better value.
Can I change currency?
Yes. Choose a display currency such as USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, SGD, INR, or VND. The calculator does not convert exchange rates; it only formats the prices you enter.
Should I include tax or shipping?
For the most realistic comparison, include taxes, delivery fees, deposits, discounts, or membership pricing in the product price before calculating.
